Ever since I was little, I have always loved fashion and clothes, and the way that they let me express creativity and have fun. In recent years, I have stuggled to reconcile my love for dressing up with the impact of the fashion industry on the planet, and of it's workers.
I have a thing for eclectic high-low fashion. I have found many of my favourite pieces by rummaging through my mum and auntie's clothes, op-shops, and vintage markets, and mixing these with unique pieces from small brands.
I understand the importance of fashion, especially for young people as an outlet for identity and creativity: but the fashion industry is in crisis, and needs an overhaul.
"Circolare" (cheer-coh-lar-rey) means "circular" in Italian. Circolare Club is Australia's first personalised closed loop clothing swap system. By keeping our pre-loved clothes in circulation, we keep them out of landfill, and minimise the pollution heavy production of new goods, allowing us to refresh our wardrobes without costing the planet, or our wallets.
